Dean Athan - Peninsula Health
Dean is the Management Information Services Manager (MIS) at Peninsula Health. His tertiary qualifications include Bachelors Degrees in Science (BSc) and Economics/Accounting (BEc). He also has a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and he is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
His prior hospital experience was at the Royal Women's Hospital where he developed and implemented clinical costing systems. His past experience also include appointments as Management Accountant with the Email Group and Territory Manager with Mobil Oil Australia.
Dean is responsible for initiating and currently chairing the CCSAA - Clinical Costing Standards Committee. He has presented widely in Australia and internationally and, in May of 1997, he won an International award for applying decision support technology in Financial Management and Clinical Service Delivery. In his current role as MIS Manager, Dean’s passion is to continue the development of Peninsula Health’s Business Intelligence Systems.

GiGi Chan - Eastern Health
GiGi is currently employed at Eastern Health as the Casemix Analyst and is responsible in the management of the Power Cost Manager (PCM) System and reporting of casemix and costing data.
GiGi has over twelve years of experience in the Health Industry in the areas of Finance, Decision Support, Costing and Human Resource. Her work had involved her in Consultancy, Project Management, Administration, Training, Sales and Marketing.
GiGi holds the a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Business in Accountancy and a Graduate Certificate in Health Economics. She is also a Certified Practicing Accountant.

Tracey Hewitt - Southern Health
Tracey is the Cost Analyst at Southern Health responsible for the costing system - PCM (Power Cost Manager). Tracey is responsible for the maintenance and processing of the costing system as well as the development of reports.
Tracey has worked in various areas within health including Budgeting, Financial Reporting and Clinical Reporting before moving into Clinical Costing about eight years ago.

Malathi Jeremiah - Royal Children’s Hospital
Malathi has been the Clinical Costing Analyst at Royal Children’s Hospital for past four years. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Power Cost Manager (PCM) system and the processing and reporting of casemix and costing data.
Malathi has over 15years experience in the health industry. She started her career at St.Vincent’s Hospital where she was working in Finance and had various experience. With those experiences she moved to Clinical Costing that was in Transition.

Maura McSweeney - St Vincents Hospital
Maura is currently employed at St Vincent’s Hospital and is responsible for maintaining the PowerPerformance Management (PPM) System, processing and reporting of costing data.
Maura started working in health in 1991 in the Finance Department of The Royal Women’s Hospital before joining their clinical costing team working with Transition. Prior to accepting the clinical costing analyst position at St Vincent’s, Maura worked at The Royal Melbourne Hospital for over 5 years where she was responsible for operating and maintaining the clinical costing system and the reporting of costing data.
Maura has an Advanced Diploma in Business (Accounting) from the University of Swinburne. |

Joanne Siviloglou - Austin Health
Joanne has been the Financial Analyst at Austin Health for the past eight years. During this time she has assisted in the re-implementation of the costing systems, which includes Transition, and recently the implementation of the Power Cost Manager system.
Her role not only involves maintenance and review of both the inputs and outputs of the costing system but she is also responsible for providing project reports at various levels of management, both internally and externally. She holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
Her career in Clinical Costing began at St. Vincent's Hospital in 1990 where she was working partly as a Management Accountant in Finance and partly as a Costing Analyst for the Clinical Costing Department. Prior to commencing at the Austin, Joanne worked at Women's and Children's Hospital as a Management Accountant in the Finance Department.

Henry Wan - Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
Henry has been an accountant at Peter Mac since 2004, and is now responsible for the maintenance and reporting of clinical costing and casemix data for the hospital. Henry has almost 20 years of experience in the health industry, which included management accounting and clinical costing responsibilities at Peter Mac, Western, Sunshine, Williamstown and The Royal Melbourne Hospitals. Henry holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), is a Certified Practicing Accountant and is also a member of the Australian Health Services Financial Management Association (AHSFMA). He had previously served as a Committee Member of CCSAA for 4 years to 2001.

Jane Widdison - Royal Childrens Hospital
Jane is currently employed at Royal Childrens Hospital as Director of Health and Information Technology. Prior to this she worked at Women's and Children's Health for over eight years, initially in the Medical Administration area and finally in the Clinical Analysis and Development Unit as Programme Manager - Casemix and Clinical Costing.
Prior to commencing at Women's and Children's Health, Jane worked at the then Health Department of Victoria in the Hospitals Division and at the Royal Women's Hospital as Budget Officer in the Finance Department. Jane has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Diploma in Health from La Trobe University and a Masters of Health Administration from the University of New South Wales.

Yew Sok-Wee - Melbourne Health
As the Business Analyst at Melbourne Health, Sok-Wee is responsible for clinical costing and reporting of casemix data. Recently her major focus has been the implementation of ComboCC costing software.
Prior to her role at Melbourne Health, Sok-Wee had state-wide responsibility as Executive Officer in Budgets and Reporting at Dental Health Services Victoria. This was followed by a stint as Project Officer for Loddon Hume Region. Before relocating to Victoria with her husband, Sok-Wee worked overseas and interstate in various industries including health and aged-care.
She graduated from Curtin University of Technology with a BSc and Master Health Services Management. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management.

Christopher Jackson - Alfred Health
Chris is a Clinical Performance Analyst with Alfred Health. His tertiary qualifications include Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. He also has a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology in Information Systems Development. Prior to Alfred Health, Chris worked at the Austin Hospital's Clinical Information Unit where he developed clinical costing extracts and was involved in the implementation of the Austin's new clinical costing software. Before that he worked for the Private Hospitals Association of Victoria running their benchmarking and reporting programmes. He has also tutored in both Science History at the University of Melbourne and Information Technology at Swinbourne University.
In his current position, Chris is part of the Clinical Performance Unit, working on clinical costing and activity reporting through both web based reports.

Michael Josiah – Royal Women’s Hospital
Michael is the Performance & Systems Analyst at The Royal Women’s Hospital. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Computing (GDip).
Prior to working at the Royal Women's, Michael worked at Telstra where he worked on the FLEXCAB Billing System Project and at Swinburne University as a Systems Tester.

Bridie Maybank - CCSAA (Secretary)
Bridie commenced working for Dean Athan in his role as Chairman of the Clinical Costing Standards Association of Australia Ltd. (CCSAA) in August 2009. The aim of the CCSAA is to develop and define clinical costing standards for hospitals using or implementing patient costing systems. Its mission is to improve the costing of health services across Australia by devising clinical costing standards that promote best practice and provide a benchmark for all hospitals to achieve. The CCSAA standards are now recognised internationally with a number of key countries overseas who have used them extensively.
Bridie's role as CCSAA Secretariat is funded by the Department of Health (VIC) and serves to provide administrative support for the CCSAA by attending and noting their minutes of meetings, updating the Association's standards, maintaining the member database, maintaining the CCSAA website, desktop publishing the CCSAA Annual Report and providing a point of contact for members.
